Ready for Your Close-up, Johnny Hopkins?

Date/Time:
Fri. Apr 21, 2017 4:00pm - 6:30pm
Location:
Arellano Theater, Levering Hall
Details:

Johns Hopkins University is no stranger to the silver screen. From campus cameos in John Waters films to fictional alumni on just about every TV medical drama, Hopkins has made its mark on the shows and movies we love to watch. But we’re more than just a pretty campus: graduates from the Hopkins Program in Film and Media Studies and the Writing Seminars have been taking Hollywood by storm for decades. Join Professor Bill Leslie, who is writing a history of Hopkins, for an exploration of Hopkins and film that includes plenty of vintage clips and a trivia quiz with prizes! Independent filmmaker and Film and Media Studies faculty member Matt Porterfield will give us a look at film at Hopkins today.

This event is free, but due to limited seating registration is required. Visit http://bit.ly/hopkinsfilm to register. If you're attending other Alumni Weekend activities, you can sign up to attend when you register for Alumni Weekend.
