The Hugh Hawkins Fellowship Application for the 2024-2025 school year is now open from March 15 to April 15!

Please make sure to have the following information ready for submission:  

  • JHED ID  
  • Project title  
  • Proposed project topic  
  • Archivist and faculty mentors  
  • Research Proposal 

Your research proposal should be 750-1,000 words, single-spaced, 12-point font, and saved as a Word or PDF describing your intended research and why you feel qualified to pursue it. Your research proposal should include the following: (a) A description of the ideas, questions, or problems that guide your project; (b)The specific topic and archival collection(s) to be explored (be very specific, consult with faculty and archivist mentors in advance about reasonably narrowing down primary research materials available at Johns Hopkins). Please also note other planned research gathering activities (e.g. interviews, research at other institutions). (c) Your timeline for completion of the project. (d) Expected outcome of the project (research paper, digital project, exhibit poster, lesson plan, public art project, etc.).
